Plant Based Diets are truly amazing!

I know that many people hate eating vegetables, as they have gotten addicted to refined sugars and fats, processed meats, and many other kinds of junk food. Little do they know the power that a whole foods, plant-based diet can have on the effect of their overall health. I truly believe that by following this diet, you can achieve infinitely better health than ever dreamed of.

1. Weight loss

This is what you probably are most excited about. I have come to find out that when you concentrate on eating the right foods instead of less food, the weight just automatically seems to fall off – imagine that! When you eat power greens like spirulina, spinach, and kale, you are able to digest your food much better. All of the toxins are leaving your body, resulting in a happier, healthier, and thinner you!

2. Lower blood sugar

This is something that so many people struggle with. Did you know that the solution to this problem is as simple as switching to plant-based diet full of fibre and plant-based protein? Your body’s absorption of sugars will slow down drastically, and you will feel fuller throughout the day. Contrary to what some believe, meats and fats don’t help to improve blood sugar levels – in fact, they can actually make them even worse.

3. Lower cancer risk

I always hear about scientists searching for a cure for cancer, but I think they are looking in the wrong place. Nutrition really is the best defense you have against the deadly disease! By following a no soy, gluten free, dairy free, all natural vegan diet consisting of quality, organic whole foods, I believe that you will be able to fight cancer effectively. Eat veggies and seeds like parsley, hemp, cabbage, and green pepper rockweed to stay healthy and cancer-free.

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to love pumpkin seeds right now with fall in the air, there are so many health benefits of these little seeds. Here are two health benefits of pumpkin seeds that I just love, and I think you will be pretty excited about, too.

1. An excellent source of protein.

Believe it or not, pumpkin seeds have so much protein! Though I am not (and will never be) a vegetarian or vegan, I think that this is great information for those following those diets or who simply want to have less meat in their diets. At nine grams of protein per every ounce of pumpkin, this is a wonderful on-the-go snack, or they go well topped on salads, granola, and much more! This is one of very favorite sources of plant-based proteins!

2. A natural defense against arthritis.

This is something that I struggle with, but I am fascinated to learn how this can help those struggling with arthritis. Because pumpkin seeds are high in magnesium, a powerful mineral that relaxes the nerves and muscles, they are one of the greatest foods for rebuilding the bones, strengthening them, and improving blood circulation. Unlike arthritis medications, pumpkin seeds won’t damage any fats in the linings of the joints, which is a very common side effect for those taking the drug. What could be better?
